Informal and charming precision art on the relationship between music and dance.

Panflutes and Paperwork is a marvellous pearl of a duet between dance artist Ingrid Berger Myhre and composer Lasse Passage. Together, they take an unpretentious look at the relationship between dance and music. Starting with the score, they emphasise an interest in structure and method rather than talent and virtuosity. The title of the duet hints at the contrast between the wet and the dry, the sincere and the structural, the playful and the bureaucratic. There is a tension between these states that shows the well-known choreographer/composer relationship and its consequences. With tools from both camps, Ingrid and Lasse discover new coincidences that change the rules of the game.

Since its première in Rotterdam on 20 February 2019, Panflutes and Paperwork has played across much of Europe and numerous locations in Norway. The list would have been even longer, if it had not been for the cancellations caused by the coronavirus situation in 2020.

Ingrid Berger Myhre is a Norwegian dance artist based in Brussels. She has an MA in Choreography; research and performance from ex.e.r.ce in the Centre Chorégraphique National de Montpellier, and has been affiliated to Dansateliers Rotterdam as a choreographer since 2014.

Lasse Passage is a composer and artist, who started studying composition at the Grieg Academy in Bergen, followed by a BA in Sonology from the Kongelige Konservatoriet in The Hague. His music is coloured by his background in electro-acoustics, rhythmic music and the symbiosis between these.

The production is in English.

- Det kjentes godt å se noe som lykkes i å være humoristisk, inderlig og alvorlig på samme tid.
