Masculinity in negotiation.

In Jakob, two male performers meet, and through their body language and presence, challenge their boundaries regarding power, friendship and dependence. They invite the audience into a playful and physical choreography that tries to examine the reasons why a relationship can be limiting, liberating, supportive and destructive at the same time.

With a language of movement that generates metaphorical images and symbolic gestures, Jakob is the continuation of Tony Tran’s ongoing exploration of power and identity in human relationships. How do relationships and duality work in relation to the choices that we make as individuals? How do these shape our behaviour, our individual actions and how we behave towards each other?
