RED FLAG invites the audience to a shared experience of bodily solidarity beyond human nature. Can we, through an atmosphere of anticipation and enthusiasm, create deep connections and collectively risk something so that we, as a collective body, can engage on par with a demonstration? In the alternative dance democracy of the performance, a relational climate-political aesthetics emerges, ranging from the immediate body to social organizations and global communities.
RED FLAG is Geir Hytten's first of three performances that explore various aspects of "affect". They are all an extension of his master's thesis in Human Geography (2022) and provide a backdrop for the exploration of environmental issues through dance.
