True Stories and true conversations

To contextualize the performance A True Story by 71BODIES, we are organizing a two-part conversation program in collaboration with Foreningen FRI Oslo Viken.

Part I: Art, a safe space of opportunity - at 13:00-13:40

How does art open up and create safe spaces that are important for young people's understanding and ideas about identity and personal experiences of themselves? In this conversation, dance artist Daniel Mariblanca, writer Jan Elisabeth Lindvik and Doctor Esben Esther Pirelli Benestad will talk about art as a pillar for creating a more open and inclusive society, and how their work and practice help to emphasize this. The entry into the conversation is the book A True Story, which is an important part of the dance project A True Story. The conversation will include an introduction to The Magical Book of A True Story, produced by 71BODIES and illustrated by Claudia De Sessa, which was a parallel project to the dance production, A True Story.
The conversation is led by dissemination and contextualization consultant at Dansens Hus, Jonas Øren

Part II: Moving towards oneself - at 13:50-14:30

The chairman of Foreningen FRI Oslo Viken, Jan Elisabeth Lindvik, talks with Ingun Vik from the Health Center for Gender and Sexuality and Eva Solheim from the parent group at the Patient Organization for Gender Incongruence. Among other things, they will focus on the importance of secure family ties, interpersonal relationships, self-expression, and what these aspects means for children and young people who are on the move to find themselves.
