In this episode, choreographer Astrid Serine Hoel from Karhutanssi Dance Company talks about her artistic background and practice and what made her start mapping Kven dance history in 2017. Hoel talks about the definitions and characteristics of this dance, about the motivations and challenges involved in the mapping, and about how she wants historical dances to become part of contemporary artistic expressions. She also talks about what is behind the performance Vaimovoima and how the project, which is based on women's power, will be a carrier of new Kven dance and cultural history.
