The Köln Concert
- He blends East Asian dance forms and western modern dance, movements known from antique vase paintings, but also voguing - the runway style of the queer subculture in New York in the 80s
SRF Kultur2

Inspired by voguing and ballroom culture, American choreographer Trajal Harrell interprets Keith Jarrett’s famous piano solo. On stage with six phenomenal performers from his Schauspielhaus Zürich Dance Ensemble, Harrell brings a delicate choreography interwoven with references from modern dance, classical antiquity and butoh. With an intro to music by Joni Mitchell, the dancers transform into unusual and autonomous beings who defy their abandonment in moments of sadness, sensuality and struggle.
