Hot Moon, 19. November

Hot Moon,
19. November

Spilles: Fri 19. Nov

On a cold evening in autumn, the full moon will rise over the city of Oslo. Moonwatchers will gather at the Gunerius multi-storey car park.

You are invited to a shared experience under an open sky and full moon, where five dancers and a musician will create a symbiosis of evocative moods. Colour will be brought to the vibrant urban space by movements to accompany an atmospheric soundscape created by the Bergen based musician Vilde Tuv.

With inspiration from meditation, full moon, folk tales from East Asia about the Moon Princess, mythology, the Spice Girls’ part of the 2012 Olympics ceremony, Kronos/Kairos and a distant past/future, and much more, the performance will coalesce into an inquisitive examination of the moment of here and now.

The production title, Hot Moon, was inspired by Aftenposten’s statement: “(...) the moon is hotter than it has ever been” (Aftenposten, 20 June 2019).

Ida Haugen (born 1991) is a dance artist from Skien based in Oslo. She works as a performer, choreographer and teacher in various collaborations and constellations. Haugen is a graduate of the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and Studio Harmonic in Paris.
