Welcome to Open House!
Dansens Hus invites families with children aged 0–6 years to family days on November 8th and 9th – but everyone is warmly welcome. We’re presenting the successful performance Rock me baby by Øystein Elle and Karstein Solli. There will be a dance workshop, baby dance, bookstore, storytime, face painting, and an open café both days from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Saturday, November 8
Open Café
Baby lounge, drawing tables, music, and a cozy atmosphere. An activity booklet from Dansens Hus will be available all day.
10.00 - 17.30
Baby Dance
For children aged 3–12 months and their parents. Through dance, physical play, and tactile objects combined with music, the senses and communication between parent and child are stimulated. Baby dance gives parents ideas for exploring movement, interaction, and play with their babies. Led by dance artist Beata K. Iden, who has many years of experience in dance, movement, and performances for children aged 0–6 years. She is also a certified ContaKids instructor.
10.30 – 11.15
Bookstore
The children’s bookstore Svovel will be present with many lovely books for various age groups. The bookstore is located on Rathkes gate in Grünerløkka. Large and varied selection of children's books.

Face Painting
FoFor most of the day, both children and adults can get “new” faces painted by professional face painters from barnasdag.no.

Creative Dance Workshop with Rom for Dans
Rom for Dans hosts a creative dance workshop where parents and children aged 3–6 can participate together regardless of prior experience. There will be playful exploration of movement and space, and together we will create a little dance!
12.15 – 13.00
Mieko dances
Dancer and choreographer Mariko Miyata-Jancey invites you to a live reading of the book Mieko Dances, where the author reads, acts out, and dances the story. Suitable for children aged 3–9 years. The reading will be sign language interpreted. The event is free, but a free ticket is required for registration.
14.00 – 15.00
Performance: Out of the Box by The100Hands
Out of the Box is a physical, raw, and acrobatic performance about limitations and the human urge to feel free. Suitable for children aged 6–12 years, but audiences of all ages can enjoy the show.

Subsdans hosts a fun hip-hop dance workshop where children aged 6–12 years, with or without parents, can participate regardless of experience. Tonje and Stephanie from Subsdans will guide the participants through a playful session with basic hip-hop steps and creative exploration of music and movement.
