Welcome to our open house for adults and children!

Dansens Hus invites families with children aged from 0–6 years to our Family Days on 5 and 6 October – but of course there will be a warm welcome for everyone. We will be presenting Øystein Elle’s and Karstein Solli’s successful production Rock me Baby, there will be dance workshops, baby dance, a bookshop, reading sessions, face painting and an open café on both days from 10:00 to 17:00.

    Baby lounge, drawing table, relaxed atmosphere and child-friendly menu.

    10.00 - 17.00

  • Baby dance

    Suitable for children aged 3–12 months and their parents. Senses and communication between the adult and the child will be stimulated through dance, physical play and tactile objects combined with music. Baby dance gives parents ideas about how they can explore movement, interaction and play with their child. Led by dance artist Beata K. Iden. She has many years experience of dance, movement and various productions for children aged from 0–6 years, and is also a certified ContaKids instructor.

  • Face painting

    For much of the day, both children and adults can get ‘new’ faces from professional face painters from barnasdag.no.

  • Bookshop

    The children’s bookshop Svovel will be there, with plenty of great children’s books for a wide age range. The bookshop has a physical shop in Rathkes gage in Grünerløkka, as well as an online store. Extensive and varied selection of children’s books.

  • Performance: Rock me Baby

    Rock me Baby is an unusual glam rock production for children aged between 0–5 years! A huge success, which will be performed at Dansens Hus from 2–6 October.

  • Mieko danser

    Dancer and choreographer Mariko Miyata-Janceys invites us to a performative reading of the book Mieko Danser, where the author will read, act out and dance the book’s story. Suitable for children aged between 3–9 years. The event is free, but you must order a free ticket to register for it.

  • Performance: Rock me Baby

    New opportunity to se the glam rock performance Rock me Baby - for children 0 - 5.

  • Contact play

    Suitable for children aged 1–2 years and their parents. We will move together and find inspiration for new ways to play together. The exercises are based on dance, and help to train the child’s coordination, balance and strength, and stimulate creativity and pleasure in physical activity. Led by dance artist Beata K. Iden.

  • Creative dance workshop

    Rom for dans will be holding a workshop in creative dance, in which parents and children aged from 3–6 years can participate, whether they have previous experience or not. There will be play with movement and space, and we will create a short dance together!
