In this workshop, Ole Kristian Tangen shares working methods from the upcoming performance ways of being, still, which will premiere at Dansens Hus on December 11. Through improvisation and creative tasks, we will explore physical dialogue, attention, and the body's encounter with closeness with others.


Biography:
Ole Kristian Tangen graduated from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and moved to Spain in 2013 to work in the company IT DANSA under the artistic direction of Catherine Allard. There he danced works by, among others, Ohad Naharin, Alexander Ekman, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Jiří Kylián, Nacho Duato, Rafael Bonachela and Ina Christel Johannessen, and toured large parts of Central Europe.

Since 2015 he has worked freelance in Norway and internationally as a dancer and choreographer. He established the company Tangen|Benzal (2015–2022) in collaboration with Jesús Benzal, and he has created commissioned works for companies in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Spain. He has received several awards for his choreographic work, including the Premi de Dansa de l’Institut del Teatre. In 2025 he established his own project - OK projects

Tangen has been associated with zero visibility corp./Ina Christel Johannessen since 2015, and has toured both nationally and internationally on some of the world's most renowned stages with the company. In the period 2022–2023 he worked as a dancer in the Danish National Company for Contemporary Dance, Dansk Danseteater.

He has collaborated with, among others, the National Ballet (DNO&B), Janne-Camilla Lyster, Hege Haagenrud and Kenneth Kvarnström at the Swedish National Theatre and the City Theatre in Stockholm. For the artist METTESON (Sverre Breivik) he has both danced and choreographed concerts, as well as the music videos Put it to Sleep and Look to a Star.
