Bio:
Liv Hanne Haugen trained as a dance artist in London and Amsterdam and worked for many years in Belgium, including with Wim Vandekeybus. From a northern perspective, she creates dance art through various collective projects and groups, as well as through Haugen Produksjoner, which she runs with her sister and colleague Anne Katrine. Her own company focuses on solo work and collaboration with musicians in an interdisciplinary expression. For her first production, Soul'O (2024), she won the 2025 Hedda Award for Best Scenic Performance - Dance. She works across genres with contemporary themes, and her practice also includes the voice as an instrument. She is driven by the body's ability to create uplifting movements and how art, and dance in particular, can be a powerful political tool for bringing about necessary social change. Vulnerability and risk-taking are lifelong companions and resources in her practice.
