We live in a time that moves faster than the body can keep up with. Being a Body invites us to slow down – to experience how movement, breathing and time can create meaning when everything around us is accelerating.
The workshop is based on the artistic process behind To Be a Body, Is to Be Tied to a Certain World and provides space to explore how the body experiences and responds to the pace of contemporary life. A central focus is working with the senses – how the body registers space, time and impulses, and how this can open up reflections on what influences, controls or sets the direction of movement.
Through improvisation and bodily listening, we work with transitions between stillness and movement, between inner impulses and external influences. In the workshop, slowness is used as a method to explore how delay, repetition and acceleration can change our experience of time and presence, and how the body can become a place for both reflection and resistance.
The session is physical, sensory and dynamic – an invitation to experience the simple and radical nature of being a body, here and now.
