Bio:
Antony Hamilton is Artistic Director of renowned Australian contemporary dance company Chunky Move – a company that has spearheaded experimentation in live performance with its brand of ‘genre-defying’ contemporary dance. Hamilton’s broad experience as a dancer and choreographer has roots in classical ballet, post-modern contemporary dance, and street-dance styles popping and breaking. His deep interest in stagecraft and theatrical world building is evident in his works, where bodies and materials converge in a dialogue of forms. He is interested in mythologies both lived and imagined, and in his work often explores the archetypical and symbolic in our construction of reality. He was appointed Chunky Move Artistic Director in 2019 and has since premiered numerous critically acclaimed works including 2019’s epic Token Armies, and his two recent international hits 4/4 (2023) and U>N>I>T>E>D (2025).
