Welcome to a discursive program centered around the performance A song to… Art historian and senior curator at KORO (Public Art Norway), Drew Snyder, presents the performance’s underlying themes and engages in conversation with, among others, choreographer Mia Habib and dramaturge Jassem Hindi. Together, they discuss protest in public spaces and on stage, the protesting crowd versus the protesting individual body, as well as monumental art and body ideology as political and fascist instruments. Snyder and Habib will also discuss the text ALL – A Physical Poem of Protest: A Real-Time Negotiation between Strangers, written by Habib for the book Bare Bodies by Mariella Greil.
Biography:
Drew Snyder holds a Ph.D. in Art History, Theory, and Criticism from the Department of Visual Arts at the University of California, San Diego. Snyder has previously served as a program manager at OCA and has experience as an independent curator. At KORO, Snyder is a curator affiliated with the art projects for the new Government Quarter and the new Viking Age Museum in Oslo.
