In the performance Gjenstand og fortvilelse (Object and Despair) by Ingun Bjørnsgaard Project, human fallibility is examined through a study of traditions and practices, among other things. What happens to us when someone breaks with general expectations – when social codes and rules are broken? What happens to the witnesses, and not least to the perpetrators?On Saturday 22 November, after the performance of Gjenstand og fortvilelse, actor and author Andrea Bræin Hovig, actor Andrine Sæther and author and filmmaker Dag Johan Haugerud will gather for a conversation about the matter: About the fine line between acceptable ways of behaving and crossing the line, shame and abandonment, fallibility and guilt. They will talk about how this is reflected in their own work, and also share their understanding of how this is reflected in Ingun Bjørnsgaard's artistry.The conversation will be moderated by Jonas Øren, dissemination consultant at Dansens Hus.&nbsp;The conversation will be in Norwegian and will last 45-60 minutes.

In Object and Despair, Ingun Bjørnsgaard explores human fallibility in close collaboration with dancers Catharina Vehre Gresslien, Edith Strand Askeland, and Ludvig Daae.

The gender aspect is as always at stake in the company’s work, and masculine and feminine qualities are distributed between the performers, as in the attempts to shield other people from their own errors. Bodily self-censorship is at risk in the many practical tasks and tools that life consists of. And at the same time, the primal, underlying chaos becomes all the more visible in the performers' aim to navigate without fault.&nbsp;Through a complex layering of the performance, well-composed sculptural movement patterns and detailed physical references create an ambiguous, dynamic landscape, in a private space that the performers try to transcend. In the construction and deconstruction of visual tableaux, human fragility becomes a separate poetic idiom in itself, and clumsiness ab essential component in the experience of beauty.The choreographic work is developed in close cooperation between movement, music and the physical space, created by set designer Thomas Björk and costume designer Solveig Holthe Bygdnes.&nbsp;Bjørnsgaard works for the first time with the Norwegian composer Jan Martin Smørdal. Smørdal is known for experimentation and improvisation as a method, where the music becomes a product of social factors. The composer himself performs parts of the music live on stage, and through everyday instrument-objects created for Object and despair, the musical score also suggests the likelihood that sublime moments arise through relational interaction and lack of control.

- The starting position is odd. The feet are together as if on alert, and when sitting down you end up too far towards the edge of the chair. The movements are – as the pictures show – ugly, and the result unfortunate.

- The goal has been to free people from doubt, thoughts and confusion, so that the spiritual forces can be used for the one essential thing: to come into contact with fellow human beings without stumbling blocks. The work is an attack on the personal insecurity that prevails in the new social forms of communication. The work’s motto is: Through knowledge of the forms we are freed from them.
