Welcome to a performance with the Tornedalen non-binary drag king Ei Ei and the Kven DJ Saunasatan in the foyer of Dansens Hus. Through innovative beats, physical performance, poetry and lip sync, the duo creates a queer and Kven/Tornedalen universe.
Kjersti Anfinnsen (DJ Saunasatan) and Eva Svaneblom (Ei Ei) have previously collaborated in the dance performance Queerilainen. This time they present a new performance, created especially for the premiere of Vaimovoima by Karhutanssi Dance Company.
After the performance, DJ Saunasatan takes us further into a soundscape of the North Calotte.
Biography:
Ei Ei (hen/hän/den/sån) is a non-binary Tornedalen drag king who moves between lip sync, poetry, dance and small rituals that smell of coffee, fire and a fair amount of revolution. With one foot in workwear and the other in glitter, Ei Ei creates performances where camp, tenderness and political will meet. Behind the character is the dance artist Eva Svaneblom (hun/henne), originally from Northern Sweden and now living in Tromsø. Her work, just like Ei Ei, moves in the encounters between Tornedalen cultural heritage, queer experiences and invitations to community.
DJ Saunasatan is a concept by and with Kjersti Anfinnsen. DJ Saunasatan curates the sound of Nordkalotten from a Swedish perspective. It is a limitless soundscape, a life-affirming, cross-genre and diverse mix. At the same time, there is a performative exploration of Swedish identity, language and music under the slogan: EI SAA PEITTÄÄ!
