MUD Sessions x Dansens Hus X-Mas Party

MUD

Together with MUD Sessions, we welcome everyone to join us for a Christmas party at Dansens Hus. Come and dance your way into the Christmas season in the best possible way!

MUD stands for Movement Undefined and originally started as an open “House session” for movers from different backgrounds. The concept was created in New York by the female House dance crew MAWU in 2009, and was brought to Oslo in 2015. Since then, MUD has been a common meeting place where, in the spirit of house culture, we share our love for music and club culture.

Niket Sharma
DJ Ghar घर: DJ, Indian Percussion & Live Performer
Ghar घर aka Niket, is a DJ from Oslo. DJ Ghar घर has been a central part of MUD Session Oslo from
its early beginnings, where he is a resident DJ, organizer, and promoter of club nights, as well as
other cultural events. DJ Ghar घर has extensive experience and a good foothold in the local house
scene.
Like many of his peers, DJ Ghar घर started his musical journey digging through his parents' record
collection. Fast forward to the present, and you’ll meet a dancer and a DJ with a strong focus on
underground music, who is very inspired by the local street dance and club scene in Oslo.
From earlier, DJ Ghar घर has a background in Indian percussion (Tabla and Dhol), which has left its
traces of passionate interest in rhythms regardless of genre. As an enthusiast, DJ Ghar घर tries to
explore and expand his musical horizons, by continuously searching for (crate digging) new music. As
an advocate of the vinyl format, which is well reflected in his ever-growing collection. And something
that comes into its own, in DJ sets where you often hear a bridge between: House, Disco, Funk,
Boogie and Broken Beat (BruK) music.
DJ Ghar घर has already played at clubs like The Villa, Dattera Til Hagen, Jaeger Oslo, Revolver, Uhørt,
Blå, Ingensteds, Godthåb, Oslo Camping, Sentralen, Kulturhuset, SALT art & music, Dansens Hus,
Melahuset, and has had the pleasure of warming up for Atjazz (UK), Boddhi Satva (CAR), Andreas
Saag (SE), Lay-Far (RU), Crackazat (SE/UK), Mark de Clive-Lowe (UK/NZ/JP), Vanessa Freeman (UK),
Marcia Carr (UK), Fényan (FR), Lea Lisa (CHE) and Hugo LX (FR).
DJ Ghar घर has staked his claim on the dance floor with the MUD collective as one of two resident
DJs.

In addition to his DJing, Niwin brings his music to life through live performances, seamlessly
blending electronic sounds with dance. His recent performance LOOP, which premiered at
Bærum Kulturhus in 2024, highlights his ability to merge sound and movement, pushing the
boundaries of live electronic music. His collaborations extend to music production for dance
and theater, where his scores have elevated productions like LOOP, Into The Deep by Deep
Down Dopeizm, and Es Ti Kribu by Sandra Gerecke. His upcoming work, Highly Melenated,
will premiere in 2025 at Bærum Kulturhus.
Niwin’s expertise as a music producer and sound engineer extends beyond his own

champion his creative vision while also fostering the work of other artists.

Whether behind the decks, in the studio, or on stage, Niwin is dedicated to crafting
unforgettable experiences, pushing the limits of sound, and connecting with audiences in
new and exciting ways.

MUD Sessions
The concept mainly has its roots in House, Disco, Funk, Boogie and Broken Beat music
genres, and aims to recreate the atmosphere that has existed in various clubs and
underground scene in New York since the early 1980s. With us, we always have our resident
DJs, DJ Ghar घर and DJ Niwin, who aim to take us on a musical journey.
Our monthly open practice/jam sessions have moved through different venues in Oslo:
Dansens Hus, Kyrre Texnæs Studio, Sentralen and Melahuset to mention a few.
In addition, MUD is currently active in Oslo’s club circuit, and has played at club/venues:
Dattera Til Hagen, Revolver, Blå, Ingensteds, Jaeger Oslo, Oslo Camping, SALT art &
music, Kulturhuset, Trekanten, Godthåb and Khartoum Oslo to name a few.
While being active within the local club scene, one of MUD Sessions goals has been to
highlight quality international acts. As a result, they've had the honor of booking and warming
up for international acts such as: Atjazz (UK), Boddhi Satva (CAR), Andreas Saag (SE),
Crackazat (SE/UK), Fényan (FR), Hugo LX (FR), Lea Lisa (CHE), Lay-Far (RU), Marcia
Carr (UK), Mark de Clive-Lowe (UK/NZ/JP) and Vanessa Freeman (UK). Soul Sessions
Oslo and Jaeger Oslo have been close partners on some of the aforementioned bookings.
In 2024 we were given the opportunity to collaborate closer with Jaeger Oslo, a club which is
considered to be among the most eminent institutions for underground music in Europe. At
Jaeger Oslo we have established the concept "MUD Sessions - House Exchange". With
this concept we want to create a space, where dancers from different disciplines can
exchange movement to House music in a cypher format, in club atmosphere. Together with
Jaeger, we had the opportunity to collaborate with the Munch Museum in 2024, which led to
a larger House Exchange event at their "Late Night" concept.
