Lunch & (dance) lecture, a lunchtime meeting point for everyone who wants to refresh their knowledge of dance - and eat lunch
How do artists and institutions work to give dance an intrinsic value that transcends the stage? And why is it important in today's political climate that dance resonates both within the field as a whole and among the general public?
Communication and contextualisation create entry points and ways of understanding dance art. What trends are prominent today, both in terms of artistic interests and ways of communicating them, and in what constellations do artists operate?
In this lecture, Jonas Øren, dance artist and dissemination consultant at Dansens Hus and Dansenett Norge, will talk about dance art and how the staged body is linked to representation and how we communicate stories about an abstract art form. He will also address how to deal with the challenges of communicating, contextualising and disseminating art that originates from the personal – stories and experiences that do not belong to us.
The lecture will last approximately 60 minutes. From 12:00 to 12:30, we will have lunch together.
