In theatre, dramaturgy tend to be described as "the study of dramatic composition and the representation of the main elements on the stage", and the work of the dramaturg is usually connected to the realisation of the text of the performance. But what if there is no text, or if the text is not something to be realised - what then?
In this talk, the two performing arts critics Anette Therese Pettersen and Lena Megyeri will talk about dramaturgy as a term, and more specifically: about dramaturgy in dance.
They will talk from their positions as critics, but also as insiders/dramaturgs of performance, and how they relate to dance dramaturgy from the outside vs the inside of a performance.
