Performance - Emma Damskau
On Friday, March 6, a new work by choreographer Emma Damskau (NO) will have its premiere.
Emma Damskau works across genres, moving between club culture, stage performance, live art, and ritual. In her new work, motherhood is foregrounded as a creative and transformative force. The piece is a physical and collective exploration of a transition that, in a Nordic context, often remains invisible and individualized.
Emma Damskau (NO) is an Oslo-based choreographer and dancer. She is interested in how dance styles carry emotional, energetic, and symbolic qualities that open up new narratives. Emma has participated in and created projects such as All About Mimi (Dansens Hus, Oslo Nye Teater, touring in Norway and Sweden), Mimi Devine – Spilling the T on the D, the solo work Nudges, and the short film Voguing with Beethoven in collaboration with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. In addition, she has been active in the house and ballroom scene since 2016, and has participated in numerous battles in Norway and internationally.
