Dansens Hus,
1. May–30. June

Spilles: Fri 01. May Tue 30. Jun

Dansens Hus has a lot to offer going forward.

The extraordinary current situation has many people thinking and working in new ways. That’s also the case for Dansens Hus. There is nothing we want more than to reopen our doors to the public, to offer vivacious, fantastic dance. In the meantime we are working diligently to establish an alternative initiative for our audience and dancers, to replace our usual program. Going forward there will be a variety of talks, webinars, workshops, dance films and live performances. Our program is continuously evolving and expanding, so follow us on Facebook or web, where we’ll be communicating all activity, to stay updated on the offers.

Our program consists of two parts:

Digital communication
Including among others: Cabin Chat (Brakkesnakk), a series of talks initiated by and in collaboration with dancers Inés Belli and Louis Schou-Hansen; physical lectures by dancer and choreographer Jonas Øren; Friday History of dance (weekly), in collaboration with Danseinformasjonen; streamed talks and lectures featuring a variety of resourceful figures within the dance community; streamed workshops, collaborating with i.a. Panta Rei Dance Theatre; and a long series of interviews with national and international dancers.

Artistic program
Currently consisting of the pursuing performance/birthday present Flekk (Spot), initiated by dancer and choreographer Yaniv Cohen (may be ordered various places in the country).

We offer weekly dance films, in collaboration with Jo Strømgren Company, and we’re working on an alternative viewing of the cancelled performance Jazz Ain’t Nothing But Soul, by and with Tabanka. We’re also working towards an alternative way of arranging our great, yearly street dance festival, Urban Moves.

Welcome to Dansens Hus!
