30 ÅR I FARTA (30 YEARS OF ACTIVITY)

Dansdesign, which consists of choreographers Anne Grete Eriksen and Leif Hernes, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. This is something to be proud of! These two choreographers have produced works for Dansdesign during this entire period, but have also been involved in other collaborations as well as being very active teachers. For all these years, in all these various contexts, they have influenced and inspired countless Norwegian dance artists – and other wide-awake souls.

Their importance for the Norwegian dance community cannot be overstated.

During this evening of Dansdesign’ s dance films we will become better acquainted with both Anne Grete and Leif, and their ground-breaking work with dance film – an idiom they began using before almost anyone else in or outside of Norway.

The discussion and screenings are led by Camilla Eeg, in close dialogue with Dansdesign.

Dansdesign

Dans for Kamera was created in the 1980s by the innovative group Dansdesign: filmmakers John Alfheim and Klara Sund, choreographers Leif Hernes and Anne Grete Eriksen, and actors, dancers and composers. Some of their earlier films and newer experimental, short video productions will be presented.

These films show movement in natural surroundings and how movement is influenced by the outdoors. Dansdesign, in the course of designing a number of choreographies for both film and stage, sometimes in extreme outdoor conditions, has developed compositional concepts in which dancers and new technology work together to form an artistic whole.

Dansdesign’ s productions are characterised by bizarre humour, playfulness, risk-taking and artistic daring.
