In the duet " – a couple dance", the stage is a room of opportunity to unfold and explore the complex layers that exist in a relationship between two people.
Mia and Gui explore and delve into the term »couple» with an open mind and open arms. Mia Habib is the selected partner for Dansens Hus for 2009, with no less than 3 of her pieces on our stage in the course of this year. Welcome to the first of these performances.
" – a couple dance" : The relation, as formed by Mia and Gui, constantly varies in expression, presence, focus and perspective in a multifaceted dance between fiction and reality. Here, we can do as we please – this is where we free ourselves...to the ukulele´s song:
I make you laugh you make me cry
I say that I rather dance with you than talk with you
and you write me long letters in a language that I do not understand
I say hurt you say kill
I say dance but you stand still
You make me laugh I make you cry
You say that you rather touch the sky
You play the ukulele, I do the song
You take my hand and we carry on
