Artistic Director


The board of Dansens Hus has with a unanimous vote in their meeting of
25.3.2010 decided to appoint Un-Magritt Nordseth as artistic director as of
1.8.2010. The contract has a duration of 4 years.

The chair Geir Bergkastet says: With Un-Magritt Nordseth as artistic
director the national venue for dance has a very experienced and competent
leader.

Nordseth was offered the position in strong competition with Norwegian and
international candidates. There were 17 applicants.

Un-Magritt Nordseth is a former dancer, choreographer and director. Educated
at Statens Balletthøgskolen and Martha Graham School, New York. She has run
Scirocco dance company and Un-Magritt Nordseth Danseproduksjoner.

She has broad experience as choreographer and director from a number of
Norwegian theatres and has been choreographer for large international
produtions as Peer Gynt in Gheeza (2003). She wil present A Dollhouse in
Expo 2010 in Shanghai.

Un-Magritt Nordseth has held a number of trustee positions in Norwegian
danceorganisations and actively been a part in establishing Dance House.

Arne Fagerholt has had to make the desicion to withdraw as Artistic Director of Dansens Hus, due to health issues.
The board at Dansens Hus regrets this, and have complete understanding for his decision.
Arne Fagerholt was due to take his position as Artistic Director as of August 1st, 2010.
The board has decided to announce the position as Artistic Director both in Norway as well as internationally, as soon as possible.
